I am actually pretty busy these days. I have class in the mornings Monday through Thursday, for which I leave the house at about 9:15. After class I either go to work at Kumon or give a tour, and sometimes I do both. I am now working four days a week at Kumon --- two at the Santa Barbara center, and two at the new Goleta center (or, as Ms. Kim's sons have dubbed it, "GoKu").
I was in Borders a week ago and I found a little package containing all 9 Beethoven symphonies (on 5 CDs) for only $17. I bought it. This gives me a chance to listen to the ones I haven't listened to yet. Somehow they don't seem as good as the ones I have already listened to, although they are still good.
According the UCSB Communication Services website, aka one-stop shop for advance information about housing situations, I was assigned to Gaviota House. This is somewhat of a bummer --- it would have been rad to be in Miranda again --- but it should still be good. I just hope the room is wide enough to allow me to set up my electronic piano without having to stack any furniture on top of any other furniture.
I have been messaging people on OKCupid, mostly via the OKCupid Instant Messaging thing. Had some interesting conversations.
This weekend I am going to Three Rivers for Tony's birthday shindig. Then on Monday I have the Kaplan audition, which I still feel unprepared for. Then on Tuesday I am going with my mom to see the Tutankhamun exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. That should be rad.
Musically, I have been pretty productive this summer. I had these vague ideas about musicals in my head, so I've been writing what I somehow think of as musical-ish tunes. I still haven't notated any music though --- it's so freaking cumbersome! This is doubly irritating to me because I told myself I would do some of that this summer, but I am finding that I am really not good at going from sounds to notes on paper. My piano and computer aren't in the same room, so I can't just play the notes in. Hopefully I can do some of that during the school year, but, honestly, I thought that last year too, and didn't really do diddly-squat about it.
I got my invitation to the CCS barbecue. School begins in a little more than a month.
I am still uncertain about my future.

And by the way, that was a good buy for the Beethoven. Incidently, my favorite composer (then comes Felix Mendelson). I love finding those unexpected affordable buys--for items that you actually want, vs things that you should buy because they are cheap.
